The PPR Standard

Last updated July 2026

Pro Portable Restrooms delivers clean, fully stocked portable restrooms, handwash stations, and VIP restroom trailers for events across the Greater Bay Area, Santa Cruz County, and Monterey County. Plan on one unit for every 50 to 100 guests for a four-hour event, and add 20 to 25 percent more units when alcohol is served. Across the Bay Area market, a standard event unit runs $100 to $300 for a weekend, and every PPR unit arrives stocked with hand sanitizer, three rolls of toilet paper, and seat covers.

We are a family-owned shop, not a national chain. Every delivery and every cleaning is logged in ServiceCore, digital service verification software we run on every job, so you hold a timestamped record that your units were delivered, serviced, and restocked before your guests arrived. That record is a big part of why we hold a 5.0 rating on Google across 22 reviews.

Event Types

What kinds of events do you provide porta potties for?

We provide porta potty rental for events of every size in the Bay Area, from backyard parties to multi-day festivals. This month alone our crew is working a wedding, corporate events in San Francisco, and a weekend lantern festival running 20 units. Here is how we handle each event type.

Weddings

An outdoor wedding at a vineyard, ranch, or coastal estate deserves restrooms your guests never have to think about. We time delivery around your setup schedule, place units out of photo lines, and pair standard units with handwash stations or a VIP trailer for the wedding party. Festivals and community events

Festivals are our largest deployments. A multi-day festival needs units placed in clusters near entrances and food areas, serviced and restocked between event days, and documented so organizers have proof of sanitation for the city. Our biggest event booking to date is a lantern festival running 20 units across a single weekend, with every service visit logged in ServiceCore.

Corporate events

Company picnics, product launches, and client appreciation events call for a different standard than a job site. For corporate work we send our cleanest late-model units, deliver before your vendors load in, and keep billing simple enough to hand straight to accounting: one invoice, itemized, no surprises. We service corporate events from San Francisco down through Monterey.

Sports and tournaments

Weekend tournaments, races, and league seasons need restrooms that survive heavy traffic. For sporting events we scale unit counts to spectator peaks, not just participant counts, and schedule mid-event service for anything longer than a single day. Handwash stations next to concession areas keep families comfortable and health inspectors satisfied.

Plan Your Count

How many porta potties does your event need?

Industry guidance published by portable sanitation associations calls for one unit per 50 to 100 guests for a four-hour event. Serving alcohol? Add 20 to 25 percent more units, because guests visit the restroom more often. Here is that guidance scaled by guest count:

GuestsFour-hour eventWith alcohol served
501 to 2 units2 units
1002 units2 to 3 units
2503 to 5 units4 to 6 units
5005 to 10 units6 to 12 units
1,00010 to 20 units12 to 24 units

Events longer than four hours need more units or a mid-event service visit. Industry guidance also pairs one handwash station with every four to eight restroom units, and more near food service.

Plan Your Event

What is the fastest way to get an exact unit count?

Use our porta potty calculator. Enter your guest count, event length, and whether alcohol is served, and it applies these same industry ratios to give you a recommended unit count in seconds. It is the same starting math we use when we build your quote, so the number you see is the number we talk through when you call. Run your event through the calculator, then call (408) 438-7873 to lock in delivery.

Transparent Pricing

What does it cost to rent porta potties for an event?

Across the Bay Area market, a standard portable restroom for a weekend event runs $100 to $300 per unit. ADA-accessible units run $150 to $400, handwash stations $50 to $200, and restroom trailers $500 to $3,500 depending on stations and duration. Your exact price depends on five things: unit count, event length, service frequency for multi-day events, delivery distance, and unit type.

We quote one flat number for your event with every line item visible. Restocking is included with service, never added to the bill after pickup. Transparent billing is one of the reasons we started this company.

Included Standard

What is included with every event rental?

Every unit arrives cleaned, deodorized, and stocked with hand sanitizer, three rolls of toilet paper, and seat covers. Restocking comes standard with every service visit, not as an upsell. Multi-day events get scheduled service between event days, and every visit is logged in ServiceCore with a timestamped digital service verification record you can show your venue or the county.

Need more than restrooms? Bundle handwash stations for food service areas and temporary fencing for crowd control on a single invoice from a single vendor.

Accessible Events

Do you have ADA-accessible restrooms for public events?

Events open to the public need accessible restrooms. ADA guidance calls for at least 5 percent of the portable restrooms at a site to be accessible, with a minimum of one at each cluster of units. Accessible units sit at ground level with a wider door, interior handrails, and room for a wheelchair to turn.

Tell us your event is open to the public when you request a quote and we will build accessible units into your count and place them on firm, level ground with a clear approach path.

Permits

Do you need a permit for porta potties at an event?

On private property, the unit itself needs no permit. Units placed on a public street, sidewalk, or park need an encroachment or special event permit from the city, and large public events get sanitation requirements written into the event permit itself, including minimum unit counts. Your venue or city event office confirms what applies to your date.

Once your permit sets the rules, we place units exactly where the permit conditions and your site plan call for them.

Site Planning

Where should the units go at your event site?

Place units on flat, level ground within 25 feet of where a service truck can park. Keep them away from food prep areas, near lighting for evening events, and leave clear space in front of every door. At large events, spread units in clusters near entrances, food areas, and stages instead of one long row at the back of the site.

We walk placement with you at delivery. If your site has grass, gravel, or a slope to work around, tell us when you book and we plan for it.

Booking & Delivery

When should you book, and where do you deliver?

Book two to four weeks before your event date, and four to six weeks for peak-season weekends between May and October. We deliver the day before your event or the morning of, on a window we confirm with you in advance.

We deliver across the Greater Bay Area, Santa Cruz County, and Monterey County, including San Jose, Morgan Hill, Santa Clara, Gilroy, San Francisco, Watsonville, Santa Cruz, Salinas, Monterey, and Carmel. Not sure if your venue is in range? Call (408) 438-7873 and we will tell you straight.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

Got questions? We have answers about event rentals.

Do you service events that run more than one day?

Yes. Multi-day events get scheduled service between event days: pumping, cleaning, and full restocking of sanitizer, toilet paper, and seat covers. Every visit is logged in ServiceCore, so organizers have a timestamped record for the venue or the county.

What happens if a unit needs attention during my event?

Call us. We are owner-operated, which means the phone reaches someone who can send a truck, not a national call center. Give us the unit location and we handle it.

Do the units arrive clean and stocked?

Yes, every time. Units are cleaned, deodorized, and stocked with hand sanitizer, three rolls of toilet paper, and seat covers before they leave our yard, and the delivery is verified in ServiceCore. Cleanliness is the standard we built the company on: not the largest provider, the cleanest.

Can I bundle fencing and handwash stations with my restroom rental?

Yes. Restrooms, handwash stations, temporary fencing, and water or waste tanks all come from one vendor on one invoice. Event planners use the fencing for crowd control and perimeter security, and the stations for food service areas.

Do you offer restroom trailers for upscale events?

Yes. Our VIP event trailers bring flushing toilets, running water, climate control, and LED lighting to weddings and corporate events. Trailer sizes and guest capacities are on the trailer page.
