How We Calculate
Construction Sites
- Cal-OSHA §1526 (Minimum): One toilet facility per 20 workers. Under 5 workers, one unit is sufficient.
- ANSI Z4.3 (Recommended): One unit per 10 workers for an 8-hour shift — the industry best practice for crew comfort.
- Extended Shifts: Shifts over 8 hours increase usage. Our calculator adjusts for 10- and 12-hour days.
- Multiple Services Per Week: Twice-weekly or daily service keeps units cleaner with fewer total units needed. Ask about multiple times per week options for high-traffic sites.
Events
- Base Ratio: One unit per 50-75 guests for a standard 4-hour event.
- Longer Events: More hours means proportionally more usage. An 8-hour event needs roughly double the units.
- Alcohol: Events serving alcohol typically need 20% more units.
